Marty Orchard
The foundation of Marty Orchard’s career in the motorcycle industry began in 1986, operating as a specialist Husqvarna off-road dealership. Demonstrating strong commercial acumen early on, Marty expanded his operations by the end of 1989 with the acquisition of Terry Bryant’s TopGear Motorcycles. This pivotal purchase marked the beginning of a rapid expansion phase. Over the subsequent years, Marty successfully acquired numerous major franchises, transforming the business into a premier, multi-franchise destination representing world-class brands including Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Husqvarna, KTM, Husaberg, Sea-Doo, and Can-Am.
In tandem with this domestic retail growth, Marty diversified into international trade in 1989 by launching NSR Imports. The venture specialized in sourcing and importing high-demand Japanese domestic market motorcycles into Australia, with a core focus on iconic models such as the Honda NSR250, CBR250, VFR400, RVF400, and VT250.
Operating a high-volume import business required navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Over decades of operation, Marty became highly proficient in dealing with Australian government authorities and compliance frameworks. He developed specialized expertise in managing Australian Design Rules (ADR) testing, stringent safety reporting, and the formal registration processes required for imported vehicles.
As Marty approached retirement, he strategically structured a succession plan by dividing the multi-franchise operation into smaller, standalone dealerships to sell them individually. Notably, the Suzuki and Husqvarna divisions were sold to his very first apprentice, Adam O’Byrne. Today, Adam continues to build upon that strong foundation, driving the business forward with continuous growth and success.

Adam O'Byrne
With a career spanning more than 40 years in the motorcycle industry, Adam O’Byrne stands as one of Victoria’s most respected and experienced mechanical experts and dealership principals. Adam’s journey began on the workshop floor in 1985, where he spent nearly two decades honing his technical skills across several prominent Victorian motorcycle dealerships, earning a reputation for mechanical precision and deep industry insight.
Recognizing a growing demand for premium Japanese engineering on the Mornington Peninsula, Adam further diversified his portfolio in 2012 by launching Powersports Kawasaki Seaford.
Today, Adam’s operations are defined by a unique dual perspective: he pairs the business acumen of a successful Dealer Principal with the foundational technical knowledge of a career mechanic. This rare combination ensures that every vehicle, service, and customer interaction across his dealerships reflects the highest standards of mechanical integrity and industry expertise.
